30m height plus 8m of a pedestal....Statue was cellected one of New Seven Wonders of
the World at 2007 ( let's compear with Statue of Liberty....she is 33.8m height and 47m
of pedestal... and same anniversary of 100 years National Fundation Day was 1886.. )

ratio is most big in the world...that why image of statue mean ? ..and protestant is 15%...

@C_L_O_G - my brother went and said the plane ride from LAX in Ca. was very long. I can't remember now but he stopped in Cuba on the way home.

Great blog today, with some great pictures! I did not realize that Brazil was so heavily populated. I have a desire to visit the Statue of Cristo Redentor one day. As for the Olympics, I am pleased that Rio won the games for 2016. I believe this will be the first time that the Olympics will ever be held in South America.
Ah, so that's where the games will be-- I hadn't heard.
Let the wild rumpus start.
I thought it was pretty cool to have chosen Rio for the big games.
