I borrow this photo from Kanako's site..
she is sea photographer..( I found in newspaper )
she is sailling with technique of traditional
natural sailling
she learned this from Polynesian in Hawai..
and navigated 2000km from Yapp island of
Micronesia to Okinawa in twelve days..
How to sail..
not take use sea map and compas..
It read position of star and sun..
or feel wave or wind or action of sea bird..
and forward into sea ocean...
she said, "This is learning nature and old technique
that legacy of ancient people.."
It connect future from past..
and conncet between nature and human..and know
every continental were connected by ocean..
The Hokurea belongs Hawai Museum

Very brave to sail without a map or compass.
It is a strange feeling to be surrounded by so much water and no sight of land.
