  • Ideorogy-4....this is well known statistics, 20% of world population
were consuming 80% of world resources now. Hegel ( German philosopher )
said, human's spirit is transforming to a final purpose with progress gradually..
however, human who is living in on the way of development can't recognize
or see to purpose of develop and next step..Development history cause as like as
a side effect of activity in daily life..in other words, human don't recognize to desire for development ..( Hegel took use german word of Entwicklung instead of develop )
after Truman speech, UN apeal to economy development as policy a harf of Century..
this writer spoke, it's unprecedent in human history such largest desire that
"change to every culture or society or economy or life style or nature on every thing of the earth..."

  • I think consumerism and the focus on things restricts the growth of the human spirit. Just my opinion.

  • That is a pretty pitiful horse, but it is meant as humor. It kind of goes with the little running truck I posted a few days ago.

  • I realized you knew it was humor. You have a good sense of humor.

  • Wow, that post was very eye-opening.  I hope your day is great.

  • Amazing to think that this has happen just over the last 100 or so years...wonder who is truely developing those consuming or those who are doing without...try to keep self to those things which need and not to get unuseful items...

  • hmmm, I hadn't thought about it like that. "Ask and it shall be given". I know that verse, I just hadn't thought about it in relationship to this.
    Thank you

  • Have a good day!

  • There is a lot to think about here.  Yes, it's wrong that 20% of the population consume 80% of the resources.  But there are differing opinions as to whether the higher consumers should go into developing countries and encourage them to change their culture into one who consumes more as well.  The idea of going in and changing other people is a double-edged sword.  We may help to improve their health and their longevity, but we also taint their culture with our own.  Americans, for instance, are accused of trying to make everyone else like us.  But you can't teach what you don't know, can you?  It's a lot to consider.

  • Very deep conversation...humm.
              Have a great week.
