  • Gregorius Calendar

I have interest about when started this Gregorius calendar in the world..
This year started Sunday at 1 January..and I found same common year replay every cycle of
      3X1 and 11X2 ..for example 2006, 2017, 2023, 2034, 2045, 2051, 2062, 2073, 2079, 2090

      Gregorius Calendar
anyway, when Gregorius Calendar started ?

                1582…………Portgal, Spain , French
                1583…………Vergim, Holland
1583-1587… Catholic City of Germany, Swiss , Hungary
1700………….Protestant City of Germany  , Denmark
                1752………….Sweeden
                1873………….Japan
                1912………….Chaina                    ( sorry ..I found only this..)

Gregorius 13 ( 1502-85 )was Pope of Roma…then what calendar took use untill them ?

      Julius Calendar
It took Julius Calendar untill them…Julius Caesar ( B.C.100-44 ) was Politician of Roma and
wrote ” commentarii de Ballo Gallico ” and have ten lover include of Cleopatra-7..
that story was wrote ” Julius Caeser ” by Shakespeare..He amended Roma calender ..
Julius calendar continu over 1,500 years and root was Roma calendar ( since B.C.753 )
however, this Roma calendar have seven day of week already and roots from Solar calendar..
                    western            Greek                  japan
                   Sunday…………Dies Solis               Sun
                   Monday……….. Dies Lunae             Moon
                   Thuesday………Dies Martis             Mars
                   Wednesday…… Dies Mercuri           Marcury
                   Thursday……..  Dies Lovis              Jupiter
                   Friday…………..Dies Veneris           Venus
                   Saturday……….Dies Saturni           Saturn

Now I understand Gregorius calendar in the world is roots from Solar calendar..Solar calendar
is a calendar whose dates indicate the position of the earth on it’s revolution around the sun…

( I didn’t know Julius Calendar by him..)

  • You are really into time and calenders these days, I enjoy it

  • I guess people have always been concerned about the position of the sun relative to keeping us alive. When to plant. When to reap. The last day of winter.

    Have an excellent Monday.

  • Yes Jesus is for everyone!

  • Hello, I lost you somehow not sure how but couldn’t find you until now.  I don’t understand calendar’s except the one I use and that is just to tell me when I have to work   Sometimes I still have to check my PC to see what day it is.  I work day time and night time so switching back and forth keeps me confused.

  • I think the Russians still use the Julian Calendar or do they? I can’t remember. I suppose I ought to look it up. Gregorian is Solar and Julian is Lunar. One can be older by one and younger by the other~lol!

Nice entry this day, my Friend~
