I look back to child age mind, I rather like to figure of Maria more than Jesus..
I don’t know why…I’m woman and felt woman’s roots as Maria…how Maria’s atitude
is gentry and adult angel..I heard Maria faith was familia in old Europe for injured soldier
who fighted in War between country before War-1..how Maria’s statue comforted
injured heart and body of man or his family…now I saw Da Vinci Code, and that heroin
was Magdaren Maria and few onother story..but Maria who is mother of Juses is still
live in my woman’s mind and felt live in spirit of home land…I remenberd my tow years

Her name is Mary and mother of Jesus Christ..so, most mysterious lady in the history..Her statue was standing silent at near the entrance of kinder garden when I was little age. kindergarden stood by church and some teacher were a nun of the Society of Jesus. Marycthe woman who was selected by the grace of God and had baby in her body. angel came to her and inform for she become mother of son who is child of God.. she was 12years old and married with Josef. But her road was so hard.. most celebrate lady and most had pain with son’s die of crucifixion. AD431 she was called mother of God at religion meeting in Efesos. Eva in Eden was agaist to God but, Mary was obediently lady to God. to read opposite from Eva to Ave, angel was greeting and called to her “Ave Mary c” she was called “an intermediary between heaven and land”.and” eternity virgin ” ,too..

You know…Mary was always someone I looked too as well during my “catholic” days…I never thought she received the recognition she deserved…now, that’s when I might have had a bit more in the way of ”belief” than I do today…but she is still a figure in my mind…great post, and I so agree with you!
I believe in Mary as the mother of Jesus, and a very “select” woman, but not a goddess. We must be careful to worship the risen Savior, Jesus Christ, and to honor His mother. She suffered, as any mother would, when her son was crucified, but can you imagine her joy to know that He again lived. That, he was resurrected from the tomb, and ascended into heaven……so that she could join Him again when she died and earthly death. Can you imagine the victory she knows in heaven?
I agree, gazing on her figure brings a certain peace.
Mary ,and mothers have inspired some wonderful art. Every tall person was once small and someone had to give them life…thats a lot of giving:)
