  • My husband saw Batman, and really liked it! Fascinating information on this actor. You certainly do know quite a bit about movies and actors.

  • OH Yes ! I remember seeing that movie “Empire of the Sun”. It really should how this youg boy survived under such war conditions alone.   Thanks for the info on him. It is ofen very difficult for child actors to go on to have adult roles. They sometimes are sterotyped and unable to break free of their child hood roles. Have not see the new movie. I usually don’t see the new movies until later.      thoughts through the looking glass

  • i didn’t know he was that child in Empire of the Sun.  that was a great movie.

i loved Batman Begins.  i saw it last week.

  • I have not seen Christian Bale except in Empire of the Sun, which I think must be Spielberg’s best movie. But Bale does seem to be a very interesting actor. The movie version of American Psycho was said to be much better than the book—which sounded like a “penny dreadful” masquerading as true art. Bale would be an unsurprising casting choice under those circumstances. I must watch more of him.

  • Batman’s fight between good and evil is a facinating myth – He seems to struggle with drawing the lines between black and white….and then must face the fact that so much of life is a shade of grey.

  • ryc, (regarding your comment), the big flower bud in my header of the San Francisco bay is just a joke. It’s a picture of my Sago Palm flower bud that I Photo-Shopped into the other picture.

  • Naomi Woman!
I’m glad you liked both my post on Lisbon and Venice !
I love both (well… Lisbon more, obviously… In fact I adore leaving Lisbon – which I do several times a week – just to come back and admire it from far…)
I’ve seen “Empire of the Sun” and probably shall see “Batman Begins” this weekend! Thank you for your post!
You manage to have a very nice blob but also a more organized blog than mine… I just jump between subjects… when I started this xanga thing I thought that what could be nice was to have a blog run by several persons, each one with a subject. I believe that one xanga that we both read is a four or six or even eight hands blog, under a single name!
Do you know any xanga blog run openly by several persons? I would like to visit!
Thank you for commenting on my site!
    Have a great week!

  • I like Christian Bale. I first saw him in the movie Equilibrium, which was loosely based of the book 1984 and had awesome action scenes. American Psycho was disturbing but I liked that movie too for some reason. He lost an incredible amount of weight for that movie The Machinist to a point where it looked like he was about to starve to death. I still don’t really understand why he would do such a thing. But after seeing Batman, Bale has become one of my favorite actors. He’s even in my avatar with the light saber. Peace Naomi.

  • What a wonderful movie, Empire of the sun. It made me sad to think of so many lives ended too young for the sum result of nothing.
